Web Reference: Feb 12, 2025 · Java Applets were small programs written in Java that ran inside a web browser. Learning about Applet helps us understand how Java has evolved and how it handles graphics. Note: java.applet package has been deprecated in Java 9 and later versions, as applets are no longer widely used on the web. With a Java applet, GUIs are easy to create even if you've never run into such goo before. This section shows a pattern for developing such applets. To illustrate the pattern, we'll implement an applet that lets you determine the time required for a long voyage.
