For each cell, the minimum path sum to reach it equals its value plus the minimum of the three cells above it that could lead here. By processing rows from top to bottom and only keeping the previous row's values, we achieve O(n) space complexity. The answer is the minimum sum to reach any of the valid previous positions, plus the current cell's value. The beauty of this approach is that we don't need to keep track of the entire path - we only need to know the minimum sums to reach each position in the previous row.
