For example, "%20" is the percent-encoding for the binary octet "00100000" (ABNF: %x20), which in US-ASCII corresponds to the space character (SP). Sometimes the spaces get URL encoded to the + sign, and some other times to %20. What is the difference and why should this happen? @MetaByter I think it is more technically correct to phrase the question as "In a URL, should I encode the spaces using %20 or + in the query part of a URL?" because while the example you show includes spaces only in the query part, it might not be clear to all readers that the answer depends.
