I'm very intrigued by CoffeeScript; I've even learned the syntax and used it in a few demos. However, I haven't yet taken the plunge and used it in a real project. Jan 13, 2026 · If you’re working in CoffeeScript today, I recommend learning it well enough to maintain and refactor existing code confidently, and then making careful, incremental decisions about which parts of the system should remain in CoffeeScript versus moving to modern JavaScript or TypeScript. Easy to write and beautiful code -- fuck all the curly braces -- CoffeeScript was a joy to use, but I'm moving on, and you should consider the same if you're going to be looking for work any time soon.
