Web Reference: On September 25, 1975, Busch Gardens announced the construction of Python, a roller coaster that was promoted to reach speeds of 50 miles per hour (80 km/h) and have a 50-foot-tall (15 m) drop. Python was Busch Gardenβs first roller coaster built by the Arrow Development Company. This ride opened on July 1st1976, making it one of the earlier pioneers for the corkscrew thrill ride feature of its time.
