It doesn't store any value. Hence, there are only a few operations that are allowed to perform on Pointers in C language. Pointer arithmetic means changing the value of a pointer to make it point to a different element in memory. Like we saw on the previous page, array elements are stored next to each other in memory. So, can we perform arithmetic operations such as addition and subtraction on the pointers? In this chapter, we will explain which arithmetic operators use pointers in C as operands, and which operations are not defined to be performed with pointers.
